Kolloquium: Zukunft Kunststoff-Verwertung 2013
10. und 11. September 2013, Duisburg, "Haus der Unternehmer"
Kunststoffe sind ein ideales Beispiel dafür, wie es gelingen kann, Werkstoffe effizient und intelligent zu nutzen, zu verwerten und wieder in den Kreislauf einzubringen. Beim Kolloquium »Zukunft Kunststoff-Verwertung 2013« stellen Fraunhofer UMSICHT und BKV Plattform für Kunststoff und Verwertung am 10. und 11. September das Thema Ressourceneffizienz in den Fokus.
Kunststoffe und Ressourceneffizienz sind alte Bekannte: Die Herstellung von Polymeren verbraucht Energie und stoffliche Ressourcen. Als Produkte sparen Kunststoffe im Gebrauch Ressourcen ein, und gebrauchte Kunststoffe sind selbst wertvolle und energiereiche Sekundärrohstoffe. Fortschritte bei Sammlung, Sortierung und Verwertung von Kunststoffen wirken sich direkt auf den Verbrauch von Primärrohstoffen aus. In dieses Wechselspiel sind in Deutschland seit über 20 Jahren Politik, Kunststoffindustrie, Sortierer und Verwerter eng eingebunden.
Beim Kolloquium kommen daher alle wesentlichen Akteure zu Wort. Vertreter aus Chemie- und Kunststoffindustrie verdeutlichen Bedeutung und Potenzial von Ressourceneffizienz für weltweit agierende Konzerne.
Wissenschaftler zeigen auf, wie sich das Ziel Ressourceneffizienz messtechnisch fassen lässt, welche Rolle »neue« Polymere wie z.B. Biokunststoffe spielen und welche Rolle Marktbedingungen bei der Entscheidung zwischen energetischer und werkstofflicher Nutzung von Kunststoffabfällen zukommen. Außerdem erfahren die Besucher, wie sich das deutsche Ressourceneffizienz-programm auf Kunststoffherstellung und -verwertung auswirkt und wie künftige Quoten für die haushaltsnahe Sammlung von Wertstoffen aussehen könnten.
Effiziente Nutzung von Kunststoffabfällen braucht die Expertise der Sortierer und Verwerter, die sich präzise auf die Wünsche ihrer Kunden einstellen müssen. Das Kolloquium bietet daher auch Praktikern eine Bühne.
Wo stehen wir nach 20 Jahren Verpackungsverordnung heute mit dem Kunststoffrecycling? Welche Erfahrungen machen Anwender, die in ihren Produkten statt Primärware Sekundärkunststoff verarbeiten? Und wo bleibt das geplante Wertstoffgesetz, das der Verwertung Schub geben soll? Zwei Podiumsdiskussionen werden diese und andere Fragen aufgreifen und deutlich machen: Ressourceneffizienz am Beispiel von Kunststoffen ist kein hehres Ziel, sondern eine ganz konkrete Herausforderung, die Wirtschaft, Politik und Verwertungsbranche nur gemeinsam meistern.

IFAT INDIA

Zur Premiere der IFAT INDIA werden über 100 Aussteller und rund 6.000 Besucher erwartet. Die Veranstaltung wird gut 6.000 Quadratmeter Ausstellungsfläche belegen. Green Electronics 2013

Still hardly one day passes where we cannot read about that future shortages of several resources (e.g. export bans of rare earth materials, prices for several metals being very volatile, …). In 2010 the European Commission has identified a list of 14 economically important raw materials which are subject to a higher risk of supply interruption. A revision of this list will come out shortly. The European Commission and several member states have monitored the issue of critical raw materials and set different priority actions. But how did industry leaders respond to this threat?
What are major sectors and players in the electric and electronic industry already doing to substitute and/or recover those critical materials? What are the trends in research and innovation? How can we collect more End-of-Life products?
Are these raw materials still critical? Or has there been a fundamental change that led to declining prices recently? Has the pressure on industry gone already? Will it come back? What will the future bring in this area?
These are some of the questions that will be discussed during the Green Electronics 2013 Workshop “Resource Efficiency in the Electric and Electronics Industry” that will take place on November 4 - 6, 2013 in Budapest, Hungary!
Leading experts from producers like HP, Nokia and Panasonic, material suppliers like Rhodia/Solvay, branch associations like Plastics Europe, WEEE systems like EcologyNet Europe, recyclers like Umicore, public authorities, consultants and academia will share their views and by that kick-off the discussion.

ECOMONDO, Internationale Fachmesse

Auf der jährlich stattfindenden Ecomondo präsentieren die Aussteller (2012: 1200) in 16 Messehallen auf 75.000 m² die neuesten Technologien im Bereich Abfallbehandlung und -verwertung, neue Lösungen zur Wassereinsparung, zur effizienten Nutzung von Ressourcen, Primär- und Sekundärrohstoffen und zur Energieeffizienz. Im Rahmen der Ecomondo findet gleichzeitig die Messe Key Energy in ihrer 7. Ausgabe statt.
Im letzten Jahr kamen 84.351 Fachbesucher (+11 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr) zur Messe nach Rimini. Gleichzeitig stieg die Anzahl des internationalen Fachpublikums um 10,4 Prozent an.

Plastics Recyclers Europe Annual Meeting 2013

Plastics Recyclers Europe, the EU-level Plastics Recycling Association based in Brussels, is organizing in November its Annual Meeting 2013 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The success of the last year’s event held in Brussels, which more than 160 people were attending, shows the continuous and growing interest in recycling and sustainability issues. This year the annual event will be focused on the subject of green growth with the focus on eco-design, resource efficiency and resource management.
The event will take place on the 21 & 22nd of November 2013 in Amsterdam and will gather the worlds of plastics recycling value chain & politics together. Entrepreneurs and representatives of authorities will debate and discuss pressing issues within plastics recycling.
